Souter bags two gold awards

24 November 2011

Souter PR is celebrating, having picked up two Gold awards at the Chartered Institute of Public RelationsPRide Awards North West. The agency was shortlisted for awards in two categories, Corporate and Business Communications and Internal Newspaper or Magazine, and walked away with the top prize in each.

Souter won in the Corporate and Business Communications category with its campaign for Macclesfield-based Plastic Card Services, ‘PCS gets its green card’.

The judge’s comments on the campaign highlighted Souter’s excellent grasp of reputation management and the way that PCS’s green policies were integrated into their wider business agenda to ensure that their green credentials and commitments were communicated effectively. The judges added: “Strong news hooks were leveraged, which resulted in the appropriate media coverage and led to sales leads being generated, which demonstrated the real impact of the campaign.”

Souter also won a Gold award for W magazine in the Internal Newspaper or Magazine category. Souter delivers six issues a year, for leading bakery brand Warburtons and is involved in all aspects of the project management of the magazine.

The judges felt that Souter responded well to this brief and that they brought Warburtons’ proposition of ‘we care more’ to life for their employees, with great content delivered in an easy to read style. A judge of the awards added: “We particularly liked the fact that Souter has never lost sight of its target audience when developing content and they clearly understand how best to engage with Warburton's readers. W magazine is extremely readable and it is refreshing to see less copy on the page than perhaps would be found in other corporate publications. W magazine not only embraces the Warburton family values but successfully brings the refreshed Warburton's brand to life. Well done Souter PR.”

The CIPR PRide Awards recognise excellence in PR and communications across the UK. Managing Director, Sue Souter commented on the wins: “The PRide awards are the PR Oscars, which highlight the great work in the industry.  I am immensely proud to have won both awards we were shortlisted for, especially when you consider the calibre of entries this year.  Winning industry awards are very important, they’re judged by your peers and show potential clients that PR campaigns really can deliver when it comes to business objectives.”
